Our Physicians
Robert Amster, M.D.
Dr. Amster has 25 years of experience as an Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine physician. He is a board certified specialist in both Emergency Medicine and Occupational Medicine and is a lifelong Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. As Medical Director of Newport Urgent Care, he is committed to ensuring that the highest quality of healthcare is delivered in a personable manner.

Ali Miremadi, M.D.

Edmond Wong, M.D.
Dr. Wong has been in practice since 1998 and has practiced in the Newport Beach/Irvine area since 2002. He attended Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then completed his Family Medicine residency at Northridge Family Practice/UCLA in San Fernando Valley in 1998. He has a degree in Ecologoy and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University. He has worked at Newport Urgent Care since September 2005.

Practice Manager
Venus Elliott was born and raised in Michigan, and moved to California in 2004 with her husband. She has worked in the medical field since 1986 and has been a practice manager/medical biller since 1993. As our practice manager at Newport Urgent Care since May 2005, Ms. Elliott has created a very comfortable yet extremely efficient office environment, with a very friendly and courteous staff.
Marketing Director/Work Comp Liason
Mr. Doug Lucero is our Marketing Director and is responsible in helping to promote and develop both our private and industrial practice. He has been involved in medical marketing and sales for more than 15 years. Mr. Lucero brings a broad array of expertise and experience to Newport Urgent Care, which has helped increase our awareness in the community.
Support Staff
Mr. Nicholas Arroyo is our weekend licensed X-Ray Technician and Medical Assistant. He has been with Newport Urgent Care since March 2007. He has been in the medical field since 1998. Nick also served in the United States Marine Corp. He is very dedicated and is one of the positive features of our clinic.
Ms. Julieanne Doan has been with Newport Urgent Care since April 2008 as our medical biller and collector. She has worked in medical offices since 1994. She is very organized and works well with insurance companies and patients to make sure that our claims are paid properly. Her knowledge of insurance billing and collections is a true asset to the clinic.
Ms. Viridiana Aguilar is one of our three front office employees at Newport Urgent Care, and has worked at the clinic since June 2005. She graduated with honors from Saddleback High School in 2004 and is bilingual in English and Spanish. “Virdi” is also our work comp coordinator. She is extremely organized, very friendly and always polite with everyone she meets. She has been a terrific addition to our staff.
Ms. Rosemary Melin is a recent addition to our staff. She is a licensed X-Ray Technician and Medical Assistant. She has been working in the medical field since 2003. She has previously worked in family practice and internal medicine offices and is enjoying the challenge of an urgent care clinic.
Ms. Yolanda Munoz is one of the front office employees at Newport Urgent Care. She has been with us since December 2007. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She is the busy mother of three boys. Yolanda always has a smile to greet our patients and make them feel welcome. Her cheerful personality makes her a joy to work with.
Ms. Carolina Webb is our weekend front office receptionist and also performs back office duties as well. She has been with Newport Urgent Care since August 2006. Carolina is bilingual in English and Spanish, resides in Brea, and has one son. She graduated from El Paso Community College with an Associates Degree as an Administrative/Clinical Medical Assistant. Carolina has worked in the medical field for more than 28 years and really enjoys working with patients.
Ms. Stephanie Portillo is a new employee with Newport Urgent Care. She works for us part time as the work comp biller and collector. Her organizational skills and knowledge of work comp claims is a welcome addition to our clinic.
Mr. Abraham Watson has been with Newport Urgent Care since June 2007 as a licensed X-Ray Technician and Medical Assistant. He has been working in the medical field since 1991. Abraham is bilingual in English and Spanish and is extremely well liked by patients and his co-workers
Brenda Rodriguez has worked part-time with the clinic since January 2008 as an electronic clerical support staff member. She graduated from Beckman High School in June 2008 and is attending Santiago Canyon College. She is a very helpful addition to our clinic.
